Responsibilities
The Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic in Florida is opening a full time Nuclear Radiology faculty position. This is a clinical position that includes academic roles including education and research with opportunities for leadership roles. We are a rapidly expanding clinical nuclear radiology practice, encompassing general diagnostic nuclear medicine, a full spectrum of radiopharmaceutical therapies, as well as cardiac, oncologic, and neurologic PET/CT and PET/MR examinations. Extensive opportunities for collaborative research projects exist including artificial intelligence, novel radiopharmaceutical development, investigational diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceutical clinical trials, and close collaboration across the basic and clinical sciences. The candidate will work 100% within the Nuclear Radiology division alongside 5 other full-time nuclear radiologists. There is light overnight and weekend call responsibilities only covering Nuclear Radiology. The practice performs nearly 8000 general nuclear medicine exams and more than 7000 PET/CT/MRI examinations per year. Mayo Clinic Florida is a SNMMI designated Comprehensive Radiopharmaceutical Therapy Center of Excellence and has robust radiotherapeutics practice encompassing all FDA approved therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals and multiple phase 1-3 clinical trials involving investigational radiotheranostics. An onsite radiochemistry facility allows for customizable radiolabeling and synthesis of 6 NDA/ANDA and 7 IND PET radiopharmaceuticals for clinical use and research purposes, with ongoing expansion and collaboration throughout the Mayo Clinic Enterprise. Novel radiopharmaceutical development is supported by a multidisciplinary clinical and basic science team including small animal PET/CT and SPECT/CT and opportunities for first in human studies. Additional divisional research activities also include multiple neurology/dementia projects and Artificial Intelligence research, supported by robust informatics staff and infrastructure.
Extensive educational opportunities exist with two dedicated ABR dual pathway resident positions per year and over 25 trainees in the diagnostic residency and multiple trainees in fellowship programs. The ideal candidate will be expected to participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards, develop lectures for medical students and residents, and encouraged to participate in national and international educational societies especially given Mayo Clinic’s global patient mix.
Academic appointments (assistant professor, associate professor, or professor) will be determined based on Mayo Clinic’s academic appointment guidelines. The Nuclear Medicine division and Radiology department benefit from strong administrative support, including dedicated secretarial support.

Qualifications
License and Certification: Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Radiology for Diagnostic Radiology. Candidates must also have advanced fellowship training in Nuclear Medicine and be ABR CAQ certified or CAQ-eligible or ABNM certified or eligible. Candidate must be eligible for an unrestricted physician’s licensed in Florida; the department assists with this process, as needed, upon successful hiring/match.
