Responsibilities
Dr. Gregg Day is seeking a Research Fellow to join his Bio-RaPID lab. The Bio-RaPID post-doctoral fellow will support set-up and operation of the Bio-RaPID longitudinal study of patients with rapidly progressive dementia.
In this role, qualified individuals will work under the direct supervision/mentorship of Dr. Day (Bio-RaPID PPI) to support participant assessments, collection of longitudinal data (including data entry and cleaning), data analyses, and manuscript drafting and presentation of Bio-RaPID findings. The Bio-RaPID fellow will work closely with other Bio-RaPID team members on the Mayo Clinic Florida and Rochester campuses
The ideal Bio-RaPID fellow will have completed post-graduate (residency) training in Adult Neurology and will have interest in the assessment and advancement of clinical research into age-related neurodegenerative diseases.
Essential skills / qualifications:
- Clinical qualifications (MD or equivalent); medial license not required
- Skills in data analyses / database management (programming is a strength).
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong written communication skills (supported by first author publications in English language journals or equivalent accomplishments)
Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.

- Current curriculum vitae with bibliography
- Proof of doctoral degree (copy of diploma or final transcript with English translation, if applicable) or a letter from your university's Registrar office indicating you have fulfilled all doctoral program requirements and are eligible to graduate.
Please also be prepared that you may be asked to provide three letters of recommendation to the hiring PI prior to an interview.
A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Upon background check and CCATS Executive Committee approval, Research Fellow may have patient/research subject contact directly relating to and incidental to the original research program. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.
Qualifications
Must have a M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program. Neurology residency training strongly preferred. Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.
