Responsibilities
Responsible for routine and preventive maintenance and repair of building systems and equipment. This includes mechanical systems, basic electric power systems, plumbing systems, conveyance systems, temperature controls, including pneumatic and computerized, air handling units, exhaust fans, chillers, and initial troubleshooting of refrigeration systems. Also handles bagged waste, hazardous and non-hazardous, as needed. Rotating on call schedule and/or non-regular shifts may be required. Accurately documents work performed and employee records time as required.
Qualifications
High school or trade school graduate or equivalent. Three years experience in mechanical repair or trade school training relevant to maintenance of mechanical equipment or equivalent. Skills: Experience in arc welding, soldering, and brazing as related to equipment repair. Ability to safely operate a variety of basic maintenance tools (e.g. drills, sawzall, bit grinder, drill press, etc.) Ability to learn operation of computerized Building Automation System for monitoring and responding to system alarms. Able to read and interpret blueprints for electrical, mechanical, plumbing and architectural systems. MECH Certification Preferred, Building Utilities Mechanic(BUM) Certification Preferred, Medical Gas 6040 Certification PreferredValid driver's license and acceptable driving record in accordance with Mayo Clinic Policy.
