Responsibilities
The department of Radiation Oncology at Mayo Clinic is seeking a Radiation Oncologist to join our practice in La Crosse, WI. The ideal candidate is a clinician who will continue to build a dynamic radiation oncology practice while working in conjunction with physicians from Rochester and the Mayo Clinic Health System and other community and regional providers. This is a full-time clinical opportunity.
All our Midwest community departments of Radiation Oncology are based out of our Rochester, MN practice, a leading cancer center for innovation and excellence in patient care. The total Midwest practice includes a robust team of more than 50 physician staff. The department has a fully accredited residency program with 12 medical residents and the position includes participation in education efforts for residents and medical students. The Medical Physics Division has 23 faculty and 43 clinical medical physicists and supports a medical physics residency as well as doctoral degree students. Opportunities for research and education exist through the integrated academic and community Radiation Oncology practice in the Midwest. The La Crosse Radiation Oncology center is located adjacent to a brand-new, state-of-the-art hospital, in an existing, purpose-built facility encompassing greater than 15,000 square feet including 8 clinic exam rooms, 2 linear accelerator vaults and a CT simulator with IV contrast capabilities. The department ACR, CoC, and ASCO QOPI-accredited Cancer. Equipment in the clinic includes: a Varian TrueBeam treatment machine with 6 degree-of-freedom couch, EPID, OBI, Brainlab ExacTrac, and cone beam CT capabilities; a brand new Siemens CT simulator with 4D capability ; Eclipse treatment planning; ARIA informatics; MIM; full access to the integrated EPIC electronic medical record and all advanced modalities of diagnostic and nuclear medicine imaging either locally or through Mayo Clinic Rochester. Four medical oncologists and two medical oncology advanced practitioners provide care in a coordinated and team-based approach with the radiation oncologist. Many surgical subspecialists are available locally. Local tumor boards and Mayo etumor boards are held weekly.
The physician will be supported by a full time NP or PA, a physicist and pooled regional practice dosimetry team, in addition to the radiation therapists and support staff. Additional support services such as Social Work (Cancer Guide), Dietician, Chaplain, Financial Counselors, and Research Coordinators are available to the care team.
The Mayo Clinic is an NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center with unparalleled support for clinical and translational trials. Clinical research opportunities also are available through the Rochester Radiation Oncology Department, the Alliance for Clinical Trials and NRG cooperative groups at all regional sites.
The primary schedule will be days, with the responsibility being to provide care and treatment of outpatients at Mayo Clinic Health System. Any inpatient care would be addressed as well. Call rotates between 3 providers (2 MD, 1 NP/PA).

Qualifications
Board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Radiology in Radiation Oncology is required. Wisconsin state licensure will be necessary.
