Responsibilities

Mayo Clinic, with bone marrow transplant (BMT) services in Arizona, Florida and Minnesota, makes up one of the largest medical centers in the world that perform haplo-identical, cord blood, peripheral blood and bone marrow transplants.  Two dynamic and challenging Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP, PA) positions are available in Rochester, Minnesota; 0.8 up to 1.0 FTE will be considered.  The NP PA will work with a high level of autonomy as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of physicians, fellows, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, dieticians, and transplant coordinators.  The NP PA will work in 3 integrated, but unique, practice settings to include an inpatient hospital service, a one-of-a-kind 24/7 hospital-based outpatient clinic setting with daily patient visits, and a full-spectrum pre and post-transplant outpatient clinic.  As independent providers, with close physician collaboration, the NP PA will conduct comprehensive assessments, diagnose, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe chemotherapeutic and pharmacologic agents and assist with patient education.  Our practice is unique in that we have the benefits of a teaching institution with a multitude of practices supporting educational as well as a variety of research opportunities.  Our patients have complex hematologic malignancies along with a wide range of comorbidities.  Therefore, our NP PA providers are proficient in not only delivering excellent BMT care to our patients but also are continually challenged to develop and utilize a variety of internal medicine skills.



Qualifications

Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN and APRN license and certified as a FNP, ANP, or ACNP.

Or graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice.

BLS and ACLS certification and DEA registration required.

New graduates will be considered; one year of acute care experience as NP or PA is preferred.

Experience in blood and marrow transplant, hematology, oncology, internal medicine or acute care preferred.

One year of acute care experience as NP or PA preferred.
