Responsibilities
The Exercise Physiologist will coordinate all aspects of prevention and rehabilitative process for patients involved in the Cardiac Center including Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation. The position requires understanding and acceptance of the philosophy and policies of Mayo Health System-NWWI and the Department of Cardiovascular Services, and is developed within that framework.
The Exercise Physiologist will support both the Cardiac rehabilitation program and Cardiology Stress Lab.
- 2 days per week in NWWI Cardiac Rehab – Osseo
- 1 day per week in Cardiology Stress Lab – Eau Claire
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in exercise physiology, cardiac rehabilitation or other health related field.
ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist® (ACSM-CEP) required within two years of employment.
Basic Life Support certification required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required within 90 days of employment.
Background in cardiac rehabilitation preferred. Licensure in jurisdiction as a registered nurse with experience and/or specialty training in cardiovascular rehabilitation and critical care also considered.
One year experience preferred.
Master's degree in exercise science or related field preferred.
Demonstrates ability in teaching and leadership skills. Ability to work with people and all levels of health professional as defined in the MCHS-NWWI Organizational Standards for Values Integration.
Utilizes effective communication techniques with patient, staff and other departments. Ability to effectively manage stressful situations related to patient management, project deadlines, frequent interruptions, and physicians requests.
