The Executive Development & International Financial Specialist (EDIFS) acts as a liaison between Mayo Clinic and patients meeting criteria for EDI services. The EDIFS is responsible for coordinating, facilitating and overseeing the patient experience and performing related administrative tasks. The EDIFS assists all EDI patients with billing, insurance and coverage issues, authorization, and financial concerns. This position is responsible for helping all EDI patients understand their financial obligations and provide a mechanism of support for the EDI patient population, prior to, during and following medical care. This role requires adherence to quality assurance guidelines as well as established productivity standards to support the work unit’s performance expectations.

Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience OR high school diploma and 6+ years’ experience in finance, customer service, communication, concierge services, or related field

Incumbents must be comfortable with ambiguity, exhibit good decision making skills, and demonstrate attention to detail. It is expected that staff are self-directed and highly organized and support a productive, collegial workplace. Staff should have the ability to prioritize work and handle a variety of tasks simultaneously. Staff must consistently demonstrate an ability to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultural perspectives. Multilingual candidates, fluent in Spanish, Hmong, Arabic, or other languages preferred. Experience providing concierge-level customer service to international patients preferred. Belief in the mission and strong ethical conduct is essential. Knowledge of and experience using an Epic RC/EMR system is preferred. Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Certification Preferred.
