Responsibilities
Partners with the site Chief Nursing Officer and nursing leadership team to lead the development and operationalization of the site strategic direction and plan. Partners across divisions and with key stakeholders to include multidisciplinary teams to define outcomes and ensure progress toward strategic achievement. Establishes and maintains strong relationships with both internal and external partners. Supports communication and change management activities needed for successful adoption of key initiatives.
Leads designated Department of Nursing site strategy team and partners with site nursing leadership and key stakeholders to support the development, planning and execution of site strategic priorities. Key functions include:
- Leadership & Influence: Maintain executive presence while leveraging strong communication skills to engage and align stakeholders at all levels. Foster relationships and influence without formal authority. Demonstrate comfort and proficiency in navigating ambiguity.
- Strategy Development & Planning: Gather data and insights and conduct assessments to provide strategic recommendations to nursing leadership. Leverage strategic frameworks to guide the creation of site strategic plans and ensure alignment of priorities to the institutional vision, mission, and objectives.
- Strategy Execution: Partner closely with department leadership to develop and operationalize strategic plans, identifying key measures of success and critical tactics to advance strategic priorities. Support the implementation of initiatives across the department and identify areas of opportunity, gaps and potential barriers to execution of operational plan.
The Manager – Nursing Strategic Planning & Execution also serves as an executive partner to the site Chief Nursing Officer, enhancing the efficiency of time management, information flow, and decision-making processes. Leveraging strong organizational and problem-solving skills, the Manager – Nursing Strategic Planning & Execution supports the site Chief Nursing Officer in day-to-day operations, ensuring that information is delivered at the optimal point in the decision-making process. This role is critical in maximizing the effective use of the site Chief Nursing Officers’ time and facilitating smooth organizational operations.
This is a Hybrid role with a 25% on site requirement in Arizona
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of healthcare experience with focus on strategy, operations, project management, client services, or nursing or a Master's degree with 4 years’ experience. Three years of people leadership experience preferred.
Desired experience across the following areas of expertise: business and management consulting, people leadership, operational analysis, process engineering, leadership and project management of broad-based key institutional initiatives. Demonstration of strong management skills including strategy and visioning, change management, resource management, and sound judgment are required. Demonstrated use of management principles of delegation, organization and execution to maximize the value of projects and initiatives is also essential. This position requires broad-based human resource management experience and knowledge in hiring, performance management, team building, recognition, and staff development. Excellent interpersonal skills to include presentation, negotiation, persuasion, team facilitation, and written communications skills are required. Superior project management experience, knowledge and skills must be demonstrated. Incumbent must be able to independently manage a varied workload of projects with multiple priorities. Demonstrates professional continuous learning and functional area expertise.
Optional: Strategic Business Analyst. Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA), Entry Certificate in Business Analysis (ECBA), or Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) preferred. Master’s Degree.
