You’ll thrive in an environment that supports innovation, is committed to ending racism and supporting diversity, equity and inclusion, and provides the resources you need to succeed.
Responsibilities
The Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic Arizona is seeking a fellowship-trained Musculoskeletal (MSK) Radiologist to join our cutting-edge subspecialty-focused clinical practice with exciting research and education opportunities. This is an incremental growth position to keep pace with our expanding clinical practice, particularly in the arena of sports imaging. The position is full-time, 100% MSK and ideal for an academically ambitious candidate with quality diagnostic skills in all facets of musculoskeletal imaging. As part of our MSK radiology team, you will work closely with colleagues across disciplines, including Orthopedic Surgery, Sports Medicine, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Rheumatology, Oncology, and Pathology. We pride ourselves on maintaining a strong culture of collaboration and teamwork to deliver the best possible patient care while maintaining a desirable work-life balance.
Our Musculoskeletal Radiology Division is currently comprised of five fellowship-trained radiologists in an actively growing department with 65 staff radiologists and 5 physicists. Academic engagement includes working closely with our two MSK fellows and training our radiology residents (currently 24 residents with approved growth to 36 in the years ahead). Our department is well equipped with the latest imaging technologies, including 3T and 7T MRI and dual energy and photon-counting CT scanners. Our musculoskeletal radiology team operates primarily at the Mayo Clinic Phoenix Campus, where we are embedded within the orthopedic surgery clinics. Our growth plan aims to increase on-site collaboration with our clinical partners at Mayo Clinic’s Sports Medicine Center in Tempe, AZ, which houses a 3T MRI dedicated to sports imaging. Overnight call is covered by our dedicated Emergency & Hospital Radiology Division, with subspecialized MSK weekday evening and weekend daytime work completed from home. Although a fully functional home PACS is provided allowing for some hybrid teleradiology work, this is an onsite position, so individuals seeking an exclusively teleradiology position should not apply.
Along with full spectrum diagnostic MSK imaging interpretations, the candidate will be expected to perform routine image-guided procedures (e.g. joint, bursa, and tendon sheath injections/aspirations, bone and soft tissue biopsies, etc.). Of note, all spine imaging and intervention is performed outside of MSK by our neuroradiology division. Research contributions along with active participation in our clinical and educational multidisciplinary conferences are additional requirements for the position.
Practicing subspecialist MSK radiologists and in-training fellows are encouraged to apply. Women and minority applicants are strongly encouraged to apply. Promotion of diversity is central to the recruitment policy and work culture at Mayo Clinic.
