Responsibilities

The Neuroradiology Division of the Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ seeks an ABR, Neuroradiology Subspecialty-Certified radiologist to join a growing subspecialty-focused division.  The ideal candidate is an early – mid career academic diagnostic neuroradiologist with experience in advanced neuroimaging techniques (MR Perfusion, MR Spectroscopy, high-field MRI, CTA/CT perfusion, dual energy CT). Our new colleague will enjoy an academic 100% neuroradiology position prioritizing clinical care, while offering research and education opportunities.  The division consists of a diverse, progressive team of eleven diagnostic neuroradiologists interpreting MRI, CT, and radiographic examinations and performing diagnostic and therapeutic CT and fluoroscopic guided procedures for adult patients.  Our comprehensive practice includes collaborative research and educational opportunities in the areas of spine, stroke, epilepsy, brain tumor, neurodegenerative and head and neck imaging. The position will not entail any endovascular procedures.

Candidates must be interested in a collaborative team-based practice and be willing to work closely with our colleagues in neurosurgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation, oncology, otolaryngology, and neurology.  The Neuroradiology Division enjoys strong allied health, medical physics, and administrative support.  

The Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic Arizona consists of 60 radiologists, 5 physicists, 18 residents and 6 fellows with an approved current training program expansion towards 36 residents and seven fellows over the next few years.  Radiology equipment currently includes 11 MRI scanners (8 of which are 3 Tesla), one 3T PET/MRI, one 3T intraoperative MRI, 2 PET/CT scanners, 8 CT scanners, an upcoming installation of a photon-counting CT, a clinical/research 7 Tesla MRI scanner and 2 additional clinical MRs in 2024. 

The successful candidate will be joining a growing institution of over 700 physicians and scientists nationally recognized for excellence. Mayo Clinic Arizona is ranked No.1 in the state of Arizona by U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals with top 30 rankings for service lines in Otolaryngology, Neurology and Neurosurgery.  Mayo Clinic Arizona is a tertiary referral center for complex neurologic and head and neck disorders, has a top ranked medical school, and is affiliated with Arizona State University through an Alliance for Healthcare partnership. 

The ongoing Mayo Clinic “Arizona. Bold. Forward” campaign has committed $750 million and an additional 1.6 million square feet to the Phoenix campus, which has recently doubled the size of the Phoenix campus and resulted in approximately 400 inpatient beds.  In partnership with Arizona State University, Mayo Clinic Arizona has begun planning Discovery Oasis, a 120-acre medical research biotechnology innovation hub that will be located adjacent to the Mayo Clinic Hospital campus.

American Board of Radiology eligibility or certification required.  Must be eligible for an Arizona license.
