Responsibilities
The Pharmacy Manager (Hematology/Oncology and Infusion Services) is a member of the Pharmacy leadership team. Area(s) of responsibility include management of pharmacy operations and clinical services in: 1) Hematology/Oncology 2) Cell Therapy 3) Ambulatory Infusion Centers and 4) Investigational Drug Services. The Pharmacy Manager provides demonstrated values driven leadership and advocacy for pharmacy. Manages, implements, and coordinates comprehensive pharmacy operations or clinical pharmacy services programs that are aligned with the overall department program, integrating best practices, emphasizing the safety and outcome optimization of our patients, and delivers the highest value care to our patients and the organization. Responsible for personnel and budgeting resources to affect the coordinated delivery of Pharmacy services. Manages pharmacy services to ensure that all quality, legal, regulatory and accreditation standards are met or exceeded. Promotes excellence based on department and organizational goals with a commitment to the mission, philosophy, and strategic vision, direction and priorities. The scope of responsibility for this position includes 24-hour management accountability for assigned area(s). Actively participates in and supports pharmacy education programs and scholarly activities. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span. The ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs is required.
The ideal candidate for this role will have leadership experience in hematology/oncology and infusion pharmacy. Skills of the successful candidate include business strategy, financial expertise, leadership, clinical acumen, operational excellence, and decision-making. They will bring visionary leadership to support actively growing services within their scope of responsibility and provide representation and advocacy for the hematology/oncology clinical practice, Investigational Drug Services, and infusion pharmacies at Mayo Clinic Arizona.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy (BS in Pharmacy or PharmD degree). A minimum of five (5) years' Pharmacist experience, which includes two (2) years' supervisory or manager experience; Or, Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy (BS in Pharmacy or PharmD degree) and completion of an accredited PGY2 administrative Residency Program and three (3) years’ of Pharmacist experience; Or, Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy (BS in Pharmacy or PharmD degree) and completion of an accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency and a minimum of four (4) years’ of applicable pharmacy experience, which includes providing, developing, implementing and overseeing progressive pharmacy operations in an integrated healthcare system and/or proven history of providing progressive services and leadership as a pharmacist.Master's degree in a related field (e.g. MHA, MBA, MPH) preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills and competencies. Demonstrated experience working with or supervising a clinical pharmacy program. Evidence of advanced skills in quality improvement, financial management, strategic planning, project management, and team building. Demonstrated commitment to excellence. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others, and work independently with minimal leadership guidance. Evidence of history of active participation and leadership in pharmacy professional organizations. Current Arizona State Board of Pharmacy license
