Responsibilities
This posting is eligible for an $8000 sign-on bonus!
-External applicants to this posting are eligible to receive the bonus.
-Prior Mayo Clinic employees must have a 1-year break in employment to be eligible for the bonus.
-A 2-year commitment is required.
The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST):
- provides care to the surgical patient under the direct supervision of the registered nurse and in collaboration with the surgical team.
- performs primarily in the surgical scrub role preparing, selecting and maintaining equipment, instruments, and supplies.
- possesses knowledge in the application of sterile and aseptic technique.
- utilizes knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, surgical instrumentation and technology as member of the surgical team.
- will float to a variety of surgical specialties, as necessary, to provide care to surgical patients.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
If graduated from a surgical tech program that was not accredited, at least one year of surgical tech experience (within the last 5 years) in an applicable care setting is required.
Additional Qualifications:
Comprehensive understanding of surgical processes and procedures preferred.
Two years successful surgical technologist experience in acute care, perioperative or surgical setting within the last five years preferred.
License or Certification:
Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
CST Certification through National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required within one year of hire date.

Monday through Friday day and evening shifts. Weekday On Call Rotation with a required 30 minute response time. This position will be required to cross-cover to Cannon Falls and Lake City if needed.
