Responsibilities
Mayo Clinic Orthopedics and Sports Medicine is a renowned leader in orthopedic and sports medicine care, dedicated to providing exceptional treatment and support to athletes and patients. We are seeking dedicated and skilled Athletic Trainers to join our team and deliver high-quality athletic training services in well-established high schools in the Rochester, Minnesota area. Our partner schools are larger institutions with a rich tradition of athletics and a collaborative relationship with Mayo Clinic Outreach Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and deliver athletic training services for high school athletic programs.
- Provide treatment and clinical care to athletes and patients under the supervision of the physician, adhering to the quality standards of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Division of Sports Medicine.
- Participate in outreach activities and represent Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research as needed.
- Develop and implement strategic goals for the athletic training program.
- Document care and referrals related to athletes and contribute to the formation of new programs and materials focused on wellness, injury prevention, and fitness.

- Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC)
- Strong background in sports medicine and athletic training.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with school athletic programs and other healthcare professionals.
- Passion for promoting athlete wellness and injury prevention.

Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree is required for certification prior to December 31, 2022. A Master’s Degree is required for certification after January 1, 2023. Certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Training, along with Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure is required. CPR certification is required. Minimum of two years of collegiate or professional athletic training experience is required. . Must be able to demonstrate clinical proficiency with good manual dexterity in order to manipulate treatment equipment. Must have strong communication and human relation skills to interact with clinicians, administrators, students, coaches, parents, etc. Experience in program development, resource allocation, and marketing of athletic training services is preferred. At least five years’ experience working as an athletic trainer in a collegiate or professional setting is preferred/ Willing to work evenings and weekends.

Generally hours are in the afternoons and evenings depending on game schedules at assigned work locations. Will have occasional work on the weekends with minimal Sundays.
Weekend Schedule
hours are usually mornings and early afternoons with occasional evening work on Saturdays depending on the sports season and events.
