Responsibilities
Responsible for administrative leadership of assigned priority fundraising areas. Applies leadership skills and operational expertise to plan and suggest strategies that attain fundraising goals in alignment with approved funding priorities. Strategic thinking, project management, and collaboration in partnership with institutional leadership are essential. Ensures appropriate level of stewardship is delivered for all assigned funding priority areas. Serves as knowledge expert and interprets/clarifies and is well aware of activities in assigned areas. Maintains a deep knowledge of philanthropic process across the entire fundraising cycle including, but not limited to; identifying gift opportunities, strategic proposal development, Memorandum of Understanding, crafting gift agreements, assisting with communication, allocations and stewardship, and serves as the main Development contact for leadership in assigned areas.
The Campaign Priority Director will bring an institutional perspective to departmental decisions which help keep the total fundraising effort integrated. This shared perspective is an essential mechanism of achieving the Mayo Vision. Collaborates effectively with Mayo leadership, administrative, and physician colleagues in Clinical Practice, Education, and Research at all sites and across the Mayo Clinic Health Systems.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree is required plus seven to ten years experience in health care administration, events, donor relations, communications or marketing, including at least five years of Development experience. A Master's degree in business, marketing or related field is preferred. Requires the ability to work in a complex, matrix environment with multi-dimensional points of view. Additionally, candidate must have demonstrated competencies in leadership, strategic thinking, project management, operations and communication. Must be able to inspire trust/confidence and communicate effectively with internal and external audiences, including Mayo benefactors at the highest level. The ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality is essential. Incumbents will have demonstrated competencies to effectively function in a consensus-style organization that expects and promotes teamwork. Must be comfortable with ambiguity. Must be proficient in the use of technology.
