Responsibilities

Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity (EID) is a priority for the Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology (DLMP). This EID intern role is dedicated to DLMP’s EID efforts and business needs. EID will be the intern’s sole focus and we’re looking for someone who is excited to be part of this. The intern will work closely with DLMP’s EID Director and the EID Executive Committee to support EID strategic goals, develop communications, create reports & presentations, analyze data, and create and maintain the EID website. The EID Director will serve as a mentor to provide instruction, guidance and to assess performance. 

Maintains schedules/calendars for assigned projects and assists the EID Director in planning, monitoring, and execution of project tasks. Assists in project communications and coordination during meetings, status reporting and stakeholder relationships. Provides strong customer service support to internal and external team members throughout project life cycle. Ability to handle fast paced environment and short deadlines. Assist project team members in tracking integrated tasks on a daily basis. The intern is responsible for observing the functions and processes of the team and work on assignments to reinforce the learning experience, to assess the performance levels and to provide benefit to the team. The intern will be responsible for completing all internship-related assignments and reports for both Mayo and the participating educational facility. Placement in our internship program does not provide financial assistance with relocation, housing, or transportation. Interns must pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal background check.

**This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship; Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.  



Qualifications

  • The incumbent must be enrolled in a degree program from a college or university. 
  • Must have authorization to work and remain in the United States, without necessity for Mayo Clinic sponsorship now, or in the future (for example, be a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident, refugee or asylee).

Compensation Detail

This position has a predetermined rate of $15.60 per hour. Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.

A remote/work from home 20 hours per week position with flexible hours primarily between 8am-5pm CST. It is preferred the candidate live within driving distance of the Mayo Clinic Rochester, Minnesota Campus.
