Responsibilities

The Coordinator is responsible for contributing to, managing and balancing workload and process flow for the work area to which they are assigned. The coordinator will provide support for activities including, but not limited to, project coordination, continuous process improvement, contract facilitation, preparation of process and procedure documentation, content creation, including writing, content intake, content delivery, communications development, contractor and vendor access management, video shoot coordination, scheduling, tracking and gathering content. The coordinator may perform or provide backup support for other work areas, but will have primary responsibilities to one or two specific production/management processes including, but not limited to: freelance management, production of Web content (internal and external) and social media management. The coordinator will be responsible for accurate and timely production of assigned content and will produce and use editorial judgment. Responsibilities may include converting text to HTML or XML as dictated by publishing tools and inserting all associated assets (images, video, hyperlinks, tables, etc.). Proofreads all published content to ensure visually and grammatically correct publication as part of daily quality assurance of assigned content. Manages time and sets priorities to meet publishing plans and deadlines. Troubleshoots issues. Performs other duties as needed.



Qualifications

Requires a High School Degree with at least 3 years’ experience as editorial, content production, web publishing, digital assistant or direct healthcare experience at Mayo Clinic.Associate’s degree or certificate that includes courses in communications, social media and Web publishing or design is strongly preferred. Strong working knowledge of computers, software applications (e.g. MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Dreamweaver, and similar tools), Web browsers, use of multimedia on the Web, content management systems and database reporting tools is required. Must demonstrate initiative and accountability for assigned tasks yet take direction well. Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment. Must possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, spelling and grammar, and organizational skills. Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment. Background in health or science-related information, or understanding of medical terminology is helpful. Project management experience, especially in a fast-paced environment, is helpful.
