Responsibilities

Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN is seeking a flexible and enthusiastic psychiatric advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) for the multidisciplinary Integrated Behavioral Health division. Professional responsibilities include in-person and telemedicine psychiatric evaluations, medication management, curbside consultations, and treatment referrals focused on improving behavioral health outcomes in the primary care outpatient setting. The APRN works collaboratively in the Integrated Behavioral Health primary care practice as part of a multi-specialty team with Primary Care Providers, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Social Workers, APRNs, RN Care Coordinators, and other allied health staff.  Practice locations may vary based upon patient and care team needs and access demands, and may include any of the Mayo Clinic Rochester/Kasson Primary Care locations. The mission of the Integrated Behavioral Health division is to improve behavioral health outcomes for our population of over 155,000 patients by increasing access, reducing stigma and providing cost effective evidence-based behavioral health services in the primary care setting. The division is implementing innovative treatment models and systematically studying outcomes to improve care, support dissemination, and share with other healthcare organizations via scholarly activity.



Qualifications

Master's prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist program. Current Minnesota RN license and certification (or eligible to be certified) as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist (certification must be obtained prior to employment date). Master's Degree with a major in nursing with a clinical nurse specialist or nurse practitioner focus. Work experience in a psychiatric setting. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) competency. Has obtained prescriptive authority in the State of Minnesota.  Current RN license to practice in Minnesota. Certification in designated specialty by a nationally recognized body deemed acceptable by the Minnesota State Board of Nursing.

Additional Qualifications
Experience as a Psychiatric NP or CNS preferred. Experience in primary care settings is a plus. A Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) is desirable but not required. Demonstrated leadership ability and interpersonal effectiveness. Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet patient needs and APRN workload. Able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting. Able to manage time and stress effectively. License or Certifications

Current Minnesota registered nurse license. Certified or eligible to be certified as a psychiatric nurse practitioner or clinical nurse specialist prior to employment date by a national certifying organization accepted by the Minnesota Board of Nursing. Requires DEA registration and BLS certification.
