Responsibilities
The Divisions of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery, Metabolic and Abdominal Wall Reconstructive Surgery, Breast and Melanoma surgical oncology, and Endocrine Surgery are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work as part of a collaborative team of surgeon consultants, fellows, residents, nurses, and other staff to provide 24/7 hospital coverage managing the inpatient care of adult surgical patients undergoing complex liver, pancreas, gastric, abdominal wall reconstruction, endocrine, and breast procedures. Our NP/PAs are valued members of a talented surgery team, where teamwork, learning, and collaboration happens naturally and is essential to meeting the needs of the patients for whom we provide care.
The NP/PA hospitalist team conducts comprehensive assessments of patients including: ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, diagnosing, prescribing of pharmacologic agents, treatments and non-pharmacologic therapies where a high level of autonomy is expected. Providing care across this diverse patient population provides you the opportunity to hone your skills in several surgical specialties.
Shifts are 6am-6pm weekday and weekend days, 5pm-7am weeknights, 1- 2 holidays per year, weekends every 4-6 weeks on variable schedule.
Our schedules are collaboratively built within our NPPA team, allowing for valued off-time for personal pursuits, development, and life/work balance.
Total Compensation:
CME
Benefit-eligible employees (50-100% FTE) receive up to 7 trip days (commensurate with time away from practice as approved off the schedule by a supervisor) and an annual allotment of $4,400.
State License Renewal Fees.

Required professional certification and recertification fees.
Membership dues for professional organizations.
Subscriptions to professional journals.
Registration fees for professional conferences and on-line or self-study courses.
One Apple iPad, iPad mini, or iPhone per year for patient care purposes.
Relocation
Relocation is allotted for candidates 70 or more miles away from Rochester, MN.
Compensation
Compensation is based off of education and experience. The base salary for this position ranges from $124,000.00 to $174,000.00.
Shift Differential
This is a 24/7 position and would be eligible for shift differential.
Day Shift Rate: 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Weekday: Not applicable
Weekend: $4.00
Evening Shift Rate: 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Weekday: $3.80
Weekend: $7.80
Night Shift Rate: 10 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
Weekday: $7.00
Weekend: $11.00

Qualifications
Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and nurse practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license and certification, or eligible to be certified, as an ANP, ACNP, or FNP or
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by the NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice.
The NP/PA must be eligible for DEA registration.
