Responsibilities
The Critical Care Independent Multidisciplinary Practice (IMP) is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a position in the St Marys Medical Intensive Care Unit and Respiratory Care Unit, caring for both critical care and post critical care patients. Selected candidates hired into this role will have the opportunity to partner with multidisciplinary intensivists to manage a wide variety of critically ill patients. NP/PA in this area, will perform admission history and physicals, daily notes, order/interpret tests, manage medication regimes and order diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. There is potential for performing select procedures based on need and experience of the provider. Candidates should have a strong desire to care for the complex medically ill patient. ICU experience/exposure is highly preferred, although extensive training and mentoring will be included as part of orientation to this new role.

Qualifications
Nurse Practitioner: Masters or doctorate prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN and APRN license and certification as a:
Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP)
Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGNP or AGPCNP)
Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGACNP or ACNPC-AG)
Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (ACNP)
Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice.

24/7 Coverage: The shifts are 6 a.m. – 8 p.m. OR 6 p.m. – 8 a.m. Average of three 14 hour shifts per week. One summer holiday and one winter holiday per year.
Weekend Schedule
Expected to work every 3rd weekend. Expected to work one summer holiday and one winter holiday each year. The weekends and holidays are assigned.
