Responsibilities
The Preoperative Evaluation (POE) Clinic cares for patients who are scheduled to undergo a planned surgical procedure. Services offered at the clinic are designed to identify current and unrecognized diseases and risk factors that may increase surgical risks, and then to provide perioperative strategies and treatments to optimize risk reduction. The POE Clinic is staffed by a multidisciplinary, integrated team of providers and allied health staff who offer a comprehensive (and focused) approach to evaluations including history and physical examination, laboratory, imaging and psychological evaluation.
Qualifications
Nurse Practitioner:Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN and APRN license and certification as
- Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP)
- Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification (ANP)
- Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGNP or AGPCNP)
- Gerontological Nurse Practitioner Certification (GNP)
Physician Assistant:Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice.
Registration with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) is required.
BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
