Responsibilities
The Mayo Clinic Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in Rochester, Minnesota is seeking a physiatrist to join an established ambulatory neurologic disease rehabilitation practice. The candidate will be well-integrated with Mayo physiatrists, neurologists, and other medical specialists providing longitudinal care for individuals with hereditary, congenital, and acquired diseases of the central nervous system, peripheral nervous system, and muscles. They will be joining a practice that complements an established acquired spinal cord injury and brain injury program. A specific focus of this position will be building and establishing a clinic that serves adults with pediatric onset disabilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Primarily outpatient practice responsibilities; typically requires 4 weekends of hospital call per year
- Serves as practicing physician of interdisciplinary teams involving other physicians, advanced practice providers (APP), nursing and allied health staff to address the rehabilitation needs of individuals with complex neurologic and medical problems
- Establishes an adult pediatric-onset disabilities clinic with collaboration with the pediatric physiatry team to help with transitions of care
- Option for spasticity management including botulinum toxin injections and phenol injections depending on candidate experience and/or interest
- Option for peripheral joint injections depending on candidate experience and department need
We are seeking innovative, patient-centered candidates for this academic position which will be predominantly focused on clinical practice, education and include opportunities for research. We have an outstanding PM&R residency, in addition to a medical school and a Doctor of Physical Therapy program, all of which are able to recruit the brightest learners, providing the unique opportunity to train the next generation of rehabilitation care providers. Compensation Detail
The minimum starting salary for medical specialties may range from $202,000 to $663,037. This range reflects full-time total base compensation prior to consideration of additional experience or duties. Pay for the selected candidate will vary based on specialty, experience, FTE, internal equity, or external market data.
