You’ll thrive in an environment that supports innovation, is committed to ending racism and supporting diversity, equity and inclusion, and provides the resources you need to succeed.

Responsibilities

The Department of Psychiatry and Psychology at Mayo Clinic is seeking a highly talented psychologist to work within the Adult Transitions Program. This interdisciplinary, intensive outpatient therapy program is designed to serve patients who need a higher-step level of evidence-based care following discharge from the hospital or Emergency Department as well as those who are experiencing increased symptoms and working to avoid the need for hospital care. The psychologist in this academic position would dedicate the majority of their time partnering with the Psychology Clinical Director in coordinating the clinical activities in the Adult Transitions Program. Expertise in evidence-based treatments for mood and anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, borderline personality disorder and trauma-informed care are highly preferred among successful applicants. Specific expertise in Interpersonal Social Rhythm Therapy is preferred, although not required. Candidates with demonstrated dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion, knowledge of treatments targeted at underserved populations, and ability to appropriately adapt treatments to the cultural and individual needs of patients are highly preferred. Multiple opportunities are also available for collaboration with other programs within the department to help advance coordinated treatment across various levels of care, including our psychiatric emergency services.

As an academic institution, active engagement in research and education is expected with new resources available for program development and scholarly pursuits. Education/supervision opportunities are abundant with students, residents, and fellows of a variety of disciplines, including psychology postdoctoral fellows. The position carries an academic appointment in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, rank commensurate with experience.

We find exceptional strength in the variety of perspectives and backgrounds of our colleagues to create a workplace that supports and advances the mission of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Become part of the legacy that embraces our differences and enables us to deliver the highest-quality, evidence-based treatments in an innovative manner to patients from all over the world.

Mayo Clinic psychologists are afforded a highly competitive and exceptional salary and benefit package. Our culture values contributing to the evidence-base and learning from best-practices in the field, and thus a generous travel budget allows for conferencing and collaborative work regionally, nationally, and internationally. Additional benefit highlights include:

  • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and relocation assistance
  • Mayo Clinic funded pension and 403(b) with match
  • Reimbursement for licensing, board certification, books, and technology
  • Mayo Clinic malpractice coverage

Qualifications

Candidates must be eligible for licensure in the state of Minnesota and be Board-certified/Board-eligible through the American Board of Professional Psychology. Requirements for the position include completion of an APA or CPA accredited doctoral program and internship, with experience in evidence-based treatments for mood and anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, borderline personality disorder, and trauma-informed care. Experience in other intensive outpatient settings is preferred, but not required.  Applicants should demonstrate a strong interest in multidisciplinary clinical, educational, and research collaboration alongside excellent interpersonal communication abilities.
