Responsibilities

The Reality Capture Coordinator will collaborate with project teams, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop and document a scan to BIM process to ensure the seamless integration of scan data into the Building Information Models (BIM) environment to support design and database needs. Requires a strong understanding of laser scanning technology, proficiency in BIM software, and excellent attention to detail. Works collaboratively to assist with the conversion of physical structures into precise digital 3D models or digital twins, meticulously documenting and representing all existing conditions and transforming point cloud data obtained from laser scans into accurate and detailed Building Information Models (BIM). This role requires expertise in various reality capture technologies, including laser scanning, photogrammetry, and drone-based surveys. Manages resources and contractors as necessary to support verification of existing condition documentation needs.



Qualifications

Minimum Education and/or Experience Required: (Education Requirements and Experience): Minimum 2-year degree in related technical field. Bachelor's degree in architecture, Engineering, Geomatics, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of continuous experience in laser scanning and processing point cloud data required.
Additional Experience and/or Qualifications: (Has Achieved Competency in the Following Areas, Job Knowledge and Additional Considerations): Proficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, or similar platforms. Strong understanding of BIM principles and standards. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Ability to tolerate ambiguity and work independently and as part of a team on small and large projects. Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations. Prefer an individual with a strong background in surveying, geospatial data analysis, and a passion for leveraging innovative technologies to transform the way we capture and understand the build environment. The Reality Capture Coordinator is an on-site role with the ability to work remotely as the job allows. Responsibilities will also occasionally require travel to support regional projects. The employee must live within a commutable distance of the Rochester, MN Mayo Clinic site.

Schedule Details

Standard working hours are 8:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday. Occasional off hours work will be required for scanning of areas inaccessible during normal business hours.
