Responsibilities
A postdoctoral position is available in the department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Mayo Clinic with Dr. Georges Mer. The focus will be on the structural and functional characterization of multi-subunit molecular assemblies involved in the maintenance of genomic and epigenomic stability using integrative approaches.We are specifically seeking a recent Ph.D. graduate who has expertise in cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) sample preparation, optimization and data processing. The candidate will have ample access to new state-of-art instrumentation on site at Mayo Clinic Rochester for single-particle cryo-EM, but also for X-ray crystallography and NMR spectroscopy.Additional required qualifications:Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamDemonstrated skills in scientific writing as evidenced from peer-reviewed publicationsAbility to perform and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining meticulous experimental records and documentationSelected recent studies from our team:Hu Q et al. Qualifications
Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program. Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.
