Responsibilities
The Enterprise Office of Access Management (EOAM) provides patient access-centric systems, capabilities and knowledge that enable the practice to execute on Mayo Clinic's access priorities and meet the needs of our patients. The EOAM Reporting & Analytics unit is responsible for delivering actionable insights through dashboards and analytical tools, establishing best practices for data management and access metrics, and leveraging various reporting technologies to deliver solutions to practice stakeholders.
This position will play a key role in the development of reporting and analytical solutions to support practice management, including dashboards, standard and ad hoc reports, and custom tools and analyses. Individuals in this role must have proficient knowledge of the core patient access data sources (patient/consumer demand, capacity, appointments) and systems supported by EOAM, primarily data from the electronic health record (EHR). Keen problem-solving abilities. Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, ability to work independently, manage multiple projects/responsibilities. Demonstrated strategic and creative thinking ability. Proven team player with the ability to lead, guide and influence cross-functional teams. Work with subject matter experts, project managers, data scientists, data engineers, technical specialists and programmers to architect analytical solutions that derive and represent the knowledge useful to customers. Collaborates with stakeholders and users to synthesize, articulate and document business objectives and requirements by applying system and analytical thinking methodology and discipline. Assesses and defines problems through root cause analysis and proactively brings solutions to the table. Ability to translate business requirements into technical plans and reporting solutions in order to analyze data, interpret results and recommend solutions to enable teams to make decisions around optimizing or understanding system functionality. Able to perform cost, benefit and risk analysis associated with the proposed product/services and recommend alternatives for solutions throughout the product life cycle. Assists project leaders in coordinating deployment of reporting deliverables. Takes the lead and works with other team members to plan the education, communication and roll out strategy for new reporting and analytic tools and products. Contributes to project charter and/or agile scrum team plans, work assignments, target dates/sprints, and other aspects of assigned projects and product team tasks. Understands design, build and operations capabilities and requirements of current analytical product technologies. Actively seeks to understand new and emerging technologies, their capabilities, and how to translate to technical specifications for purposes of design, build and integration.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in data analytics, mathematics, statistics, engineering, business administration, healthcare administration, information technology, health or science-related field and a minimum of four years of related experience in an analytics role; or Master's degree in data analytics, mathematics, statistics, engineering, business administration, healthcare administration, information technology, health or science-related field and a minimum of two years of related experience in an analytics role.Strengths in structured and logical thinking, problem solving, issue resolution and attention to data. Proficient with data management, analysis and visualization tools including but not limited to Excel, SQL, BigQuery, Tableau and Looker. Proficient knowledge of agile and scrum methodologies.Certification in Epic Cogito reporting or required within six months of the start date.
