At Mayo Clinic, the speech/language pathologist provides services for the prevention, identification, diagnosis, consultation, education, and rehabilitation of patients with acquired communication and swallowing disorders. Our Speech/language pathologists also serve as clinical instructors for graduate students in speech pathology, clinical fellows, and other medical professionals. The speech/language pathologist works closely with the patient, family, and other members of a physician-led team in providing individualized treatment.
Qualifications
Master of Science (MS) or Master of Art (MA) degree in Speech-Language Pathology, or Master of Speech Pathology (MSP)
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or participating in an ASHA Clinical Fellowship Year supervised by a Mayo Clinic speech-language pathologist certified by ASHA
Licensed by the State of hire in Speech-Language Pathology
Additional certifications or experience may be encouraged or required depending on the specific job opening.
