Responsibilities
The purpose of this position is to manage commercialization of Tools based technologies and other inventions as assigned by their team lead while providing technical and administrative support to Sr. Technology Licensing Managers and Directors of Licensing in support of MCV technology commercialization efforts. Key focus will be applied to activities that provide positive financial returns, translate Mayo technologies to patients and providing quality service and outcomes to Mayo Clinic inventors. The incumbent will be responsible for the processing and evaluation of disclosures and inventions , drafting and negotiating Tools based agreements and provides assistance with patent prosecution activities, and certain licensing activities of assigned or delegated projects. Utilizes leadership qualities, strong team play and interpersonal skills, and broad technical knowledge in all interactions with inventors, allied health staff and internal / external business contacts.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus either (i) one year of prior licensing; or (ii) two years of prior work experience in biological or physical science or business experience required. Master's degree in business, science or related field preferred. Good human relations and written and verbal communication skills. High level of technical competence and confidence. Customer focused. Decision making and problem solving ability. Ability to manage several projects or tasks simultaneously and exercise appropriate judgment when prioritizing projects and when to engage with Licensing Manager or MCV colleagues for guidance or direction. Ability to function well in a team setting and work in a diverse work environment. Knowledge of business, laws and regulations relating to patenting and licensing of technologies preferred.
