Responsibilities

Work study student employees are representative of Mayo Clinic, working cooperatively with all Mayo Clinic staff, external clients, students, and advisors. Is responsible to and receives direction from assigned department supervisor. Work study employment provides students that have interest in a healthcare career and view Mayo Clinic as an employer of choice an opportunity to explore our culture, gain field experience and pursue their career goals. 

The work study employee is responsible for completing delegated work assignments to reinforce the learning experience and to provide benefit to the work unit. Opportunities for mentorship and career development may be made available to work study employees.

The work study employee will be responsible for indicating changes in financial aid award to their assigned supervisor, as well as the work study office. The work study employee schedule will be arranged collaboratively between the work study employee and assigned department supervisor and in compliance with the financial aid award amount and minimum hours per week requirements.

This position will be processing patient samples that will be analyzed for clinical studies.

Qualifications

The incumbent must be enrolled in a degree program from University of MN- Rochester  and possess skill set to do assigned work.

Visa sponsorship or transfer  is not available for this position.  Mayo Clinic does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.

To be considered, you must include your Work Study Referral form at time of application which includes your UMR Student ID #, UMR email address and work study award amount.  Applicants without this information will not be considered.
