Responsibilities
This position is responsible to the Unit Head of the Construction Management Group, Division of Project Services and to the Project manager on assigned projects. This position works collaboratively with Project management, Design Services, Design Support, A/E Design, Construction Coordinators, Facilities Operations, institutional proponents, and various internal Mayo groups in managing the construction activities at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville and/or the regional work for Mayo Health System. This position coordinates the various contracts and the process for the construction phase of various projects; defined either as Miscellaneous, AB and Stand alone type projects. This position monitors the performance of contractors and subcontractors who are constructing, renovating, remodeling, providing maintenance or demolishing Mayo Foundations buildings and leashed properties. Incumbent is responsible for several projects at any given time with various levels of complexity at one or more locations. The incumbent functions independently by applying acquired technical skills to perform the full range of construction management activities for each project. The incumbent to provide mentoring to coworkers, coordinate more complex projects, conduct special assignments and/or studies, be an active member on task forces and committee's as requested.
Qualifications
EDUCATION : Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management or Engineering or a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture or Business Administration. EXPERIENCE : Must have a minimum five years of construction management experience, five to ten years of Mayo/Facilities experience. High level of decision making, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills are required. Ability to manage numerous sensitive projects on time and within budget. Provide solutions to resolve issues in cost effective manners, and still meet the needs of the institution. Provide mentoring to construction coordinators, active member of task forces or work groups. Requires appropriate presentation skills for projects, task forces or work group.COMPETENCY: JOB KNOWLEDGE: ADDL CONSIDERATIONS: Subject to being called in for emergency situations & schedule off - hour construction. Standing more than 50% of the time. Work at elevated levels.
