Responsibilities
A postdoctoral research position has opened in the Department of Immunology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. The hypothesis-driven discovery research project will focus oncharacterizing mechanisms of protective immunity in ovarian cancer. Candidate must currently hold a Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent in biological sciences, preferably immunology. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, dedication, a professional attitude, and organizational skills are essential.
Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 research scholars sponsored by Mayo Clinic.
Responsibilities
Include but not limited to:
- Working with animal models.
- Immune assays such as flow cytometry, ELISA, western blot, qPCR, etc.
- Engage with internal peers and develop new internal and external collaborations.
- Grant writing
- Clearly communicate results to colleagues and to the external scientific community through presentations and publications in leading journals.
Qualifications
- Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent in biological sciences, preferably immunology or related field.
- Experience with animal models of disease.
- Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with peers within and across departments.
- Effective organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge using standard data analysis tools such as FlowJo, Graph Pad Prism, and Microsoft programs. Bioinformatics experience a plus.

A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.
