Responsibilities
Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) Clinical Therapist is a specialized behavioral health clinician who works as a member of the primary care team(s) with Mayo Clinic Health System Franciscan Healthcare. The role of the IBH Clinical Therapist is to ensure that the behavioral health needs of the patients within primary care are met, including those social, behavioral and emotional factors that influence physical health. As a member of the Primary Care team, the IBH Clinical Therapist provides services including but not limited to: consultation, brief assessment and intervention, care coordination and individual, family and group behavioral health interventions with children, adolescent and adults. Works closely with resources in the community to coordinate and refer patients to those resources as required. A qualified applicant for the IBH Clinical Therapist role should have expertise in the above mentioned areas to address the full lifespan of our patient population.
The IBH Clinical Therapist also attends team meetings/daily huddles with other member of the care teams, reviewing the care of complex patients, particularly those patients with whom behavioral health needs are contributing to excess morbidity.
Qualifications
Masters in approved human services field (Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Psychiatric Nursing, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy). Needs to have and maintain and active WI license in one of the above approved areas. Supervised clinical post Masters experience of 3000 hours in a mental health setting. Eligible for Wisconsin MA certification. Needs to have and maintain specialized certifications as necessary to serve specific client populations. .
Two to five years clinical social work, patient and managed care experience, or related public sector experience preferred. Demonstrated ability in psychosocial assessment, knowledge of community resources, crisis intervention skills, ability in discharge planning, and ability to work with a multidisciplinary team required. Excellent written and communications skills and basic computer skills required.
Department-specific competencies, including age-specific competencies and their measurements, will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.
Additional Qualifications :
IBH Clinical Therapist provides services as needed in the following areas: screening, treatment, planning, crisis, intervention, intake, counseling/psychotherapy education, case management and referral, consultation, and documentation/record keeping.
The IBH Clinical Therapist will follow all policies, procedures and guidelines of Mayo Clinical Health System as well as ethical and legal requirements as mandated by Mayo Clinic Health System and state of Wisconsin Licensing Board.
License/Certification: Must have an active WI license or be eligible for licensure in the state of WI. Needs to have and maintain specialized certifications as necessary to serve specific client populations.
