Responsibilities
Mayo Clinic Healthcare in London has an exciting opportunity for a sonographer to join our growing team! The sonographer will be an exceptionally skilled clinical sonographer, who shows evidence of excellent clinical ability, organization and interpersonal skills. The post holder will be keen to support the development of the rapidly growing Cardiology and Radiology Departments and work in collaboration with colleagues from the cardiology department in the USA. The Radiology Department will benefit from general abdominal, pelvic, TV, venous, arterial and carotid Doppler scans. The sonographer will be involved in the provision of highly patient oriented clinical service and will help support new research projects in collaboration with researchers from the USA. Will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, radiographers and nurses. The sonographer will undertake, without immediate supervision, a full range of diagnostic cardiac and general sonography procedures and develop skills at interpreting complex clinical information, independent reporting, responding to changes promptly and appropriately. An autonomous, practitioner who works independently but also an important part of the team in developing specialized plans for both cardiac and general sonography patients.
This position is located in London. Qualified candidates must be eligible to work in the U.K.. Relocation is not provided.
Qualifications
- Required to hold a BSc (Hons) degree in Radiography or equivalent.
- Post-graduate Diploma in medical ultrasound or equivalent and demonstrate relevant post qualification general sonography procedures.
- The candidate must have at least 3 years in general abdominal ultrasound.
- HCPC Registration required.
- Experience running ultrasound lists facilitating quick diagnosis and treatment.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Experience working in a team environment. Computer skills required.
- Prior experience with electronic medical record systems, RIS and PACS preferred.
- Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
- Demonstrated leadership and excellent critical thinking skills.
- Experience in private healthcare preferred.
- Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom. Must be fluent in English.
