Responsibilities

The Special Purpose Processor Development Group (SPPDG) is a research group dedicated to developing and applying leading-edge electronics for the benefit of patients and sponsors and is seeking qualified engineers to support its various projects.

This is an entry level position targeted at recent graduates of engineering schools. Performs fundamental microelectronic engineering functions in the areas of Hardware, Firmware, or Software Engineering which may include theoretical development, conceptualization, design, implementation, simulation, integration, test or analysis. Takes direction from more experienced engineers, project leads, Supervisors, or Principal Investigators, with completed assignments reviewed by Supervisor and/or senior technical group members. Applies technical knowledge and experience to perform basic engineering tasks using state-of-the-art resources. Identifies and requests materials needed to complete assignments. Understands how assigned work fits into overall group mission and able to organize own work and prioritize work within a defined set of tasks. Able to clearly communicate status updates on assigned activities and generate technical documentation to describe and summarize results. Limited travel may be required.



Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering - Recent graduates capable of learning new tools and techniques. 

Note: This position requires obtaining and maintaining a Secret clearance and adhering to security requirements as described in the NISPOM. Therefore, must be a U.S. Citizen. 

Qualifications Preferred:  Familiarity with typical electrical engineering undergraduate topics such as VLSI circuit design (digital and/or analog mixed-signal transistor level design), electromagnetics (transmission line theory, Maxwell’s equations, etc.), digital logic design (including familiarity with VHDL and/or Verilog hardware description languages), computer architecture, and embedded systems.  Experience with circuit modeling and simulation and electronics lab testing.

$75,129.60 - $112,736.00 / year; Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.

Monday-Friday; Work schedule of 9 hours per day, 9 weekdays per two week pay period.

Weekend Schedule
