In a care team model, NP/PAs are partnered with individual physicians to support patient care needs of the team. In addition to supporting team based care, the NP/PA also maintains their own clinic with individual patients. Together, the teams provide care for a wide range of patients across subspecialties including genitourinary oncology, female pelvic medicine and reconstructive urology, medical urology, endourology, and men’s health and infertility.
The NP/PA role in Urology requires outpatient clinic only. There are no call or hospital rounding activities or assignments. NP/PA staff are in clinic daily with no weekend responsibilities. Within the clinical setting, NP/PAs provide evaluations and consults with indirect supervision and may be involved in outpatient procedures.
