Responsibilities
Provides counsel, advice, and expertise to students in the evaluation and resolution of personal and/or academic-related concerns impacting their academic success. Supports the student in the development and implementation of solutions. Provides expert organizational behavioral consultations regarding individual student concerns in order to enhance academic culture and performance. Assists in researching best practices and measuring effectiveness and performance as it relates to interventions to improve academic success. Demonstrates coaching skills including reflective listening, inquiry and motivational interviewing. Works collaboratively with Mayo Clinic staff and other healthcare providers by developing success plans that facilitate lifestyle changes through a combination of efforts. Works collaboratively with team members to support optimal learning experience and strongest possible performance in light of life demands that often compete with academic performance. Provides program orientation sessions and a variety of seminars. This role serves as a member of the Student Development Team within the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. The Student Development Team provides holistic support of all leaners. As a member of this Team, there may be occasions in which one may encounter a learner in need of emotion support or under stress. All Team members are responsible for awareness of support resources for triaging learners in this situation.

This position is a combination of remote and onsite support work. Individual must live within driving distance to the Mayo Clinic Rochester campus.
**Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in college student personnel, student development, student affairs in higher education, or one of the behavioral sciences (e.g. social work, counseling, psychology) and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human development, or a related field with a minimum of 4 years of related experience.
Additional Experience and/or Qualifications: (Has Achieved Competency in the Following Areas, Job Knowledge and Additional Considerations):
Completed certified Wellness Coach training or equivalent is preferred. Prior experience with graduate, professional, and/or specialty training (e.g. residency training programs).
