Responsibilities
Senior leader with high level oversight for Mayo Clinic’s Department of Development teams that partner with our frontline fundraisers to support benefactor engagement across all platforms. This role will oversee functional areas within the Department that contribute to our benefactor engagement strategies, including Creative Strategy and Design, Communications, Stewardship and Recognition. Supports the strategic objectives of Mayo Clinic’s philanthropy efforts by overseeing development and execution of integrated benefactor engagement strategies. This role will require close collaboration with frontline fundraising leadership and staff to assess benefactor engagement and communication needs. This role will develop, maintain, and refine strategic plans. The Division Chair will develop organizational structure and processes to ensure convergence and efficient operations of assigned activities. The candidate must have a proven track record of developing and implementing strategies and programs in large, complex organizations, be comfortable building collaborative working relationships within highly matrixed organizations and possess the skills and demeanor to lead and motivate teams within a fast-paced and agile environment.
Provides leadership, mentorship and career development to staff and exhibits Mayo’s leadership model capabilities in inspiring values, engaging colleagues, bold and forward thinking and driving results. Coordinates and collaborates extensively across Mayo Clinic to ensure optimal results.
This Position is 100% Remote, can work from anywhere
Qualifications
This position requires a Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 10 years of fundraising, marketing, or communications experience with at least 5 years of management experience OR a Master's degree plus 8 years fundraising, marketing, or communications experience with at least 5 years of management experience. Demonstrated ability to partner with senior leadership, exceptional business acumen and ability to consolidate multiple related activities into a comprehensive program and strategy will be required.
- Comfortable working as a member of a leadership team with shared decision-making responsibility.
- Ability to identify communication and engagement needs and deliver transformative solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage diverse but integrated work units.
- Excellent communication and presentation (written and oral) skills.
- Can competently conduct complex work under minimal supervision and initiate judgement in handling and/or delegating responsibilities.
