Responsibilities
We are seeking a motivated postdoctoral research fellow to join Dr. Yi Lin’s lab at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. Dr. Lin’s lab has an active cancer immunotherapy research program on identifying mechanisms of resistance to cellular immunotherapy and bispecific antibodies, and translating novel immune cell engineering into clinical testing.
The position requires talented individuals trained in immunology, molecular medicine, and or genetic engineering. Experience with 3D tumor bioprinted models, immune cell metabolism studies, and or genetic modification of primary human immune cells are especially desirable. Responsibilities are as follows:
- Immune phenotyping and functional studies from primary patient samples
- Generation and optimization of 3D bioprinted tumor models to facilitate immune functional assays
- Gene and RNA editing of primary human monocytes and monocytes-derived cells, T cells and functional testing of the edited cells
- Write and publish scientific research and methods papers
- Write grant applications
A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Applicants who meets NIH definition for minority or socioeconomically disadvantage background who are underrepresented in biomedical sciences are especially encouraged to apply. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training, research interest, and peer-reviewed publications, and should become competitive for national research grants.
Qualifications
Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program. Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.
