Responsibilities
Supports Radiology Specialty Council and Mayo Clinic Department of Radiology or Surgery and Surgical Specialties annual operating and five year capital budgeting (space, equipment, IT, service, Electronic Health Record (EHR) throughout the enterprise and ensures alignment with strategic Mayo goals. Works closely with Radiology/Surgery leadership to balance clinical need and capital restrictions. Serves as Radiology/Surgery liaison to local and enterprise committees, facilities and maintenance groups, engineering, and Departments of Finance, Mayo Legal, and Supply Chain Management on issues related to capital asset management. Partners with Supply Chain Management to negotiate enterprise purchase and service agreements, secure competitive bids and procure equipment. Coordinates the annual Radiology/Surgery operational planning and capital budgeting process. Develops asset management policies and procedures in accordance with Radiology Specialty Council or Surgery and Surgical Specialty goals and objectives and within appropriate regulatory parameters. Has major responsibility for coordination of all equipment and space acquisitions within Radiology/Surgery. Partners with enterprise and/or local site physician and administrative leadership to coordinate submission of capital proposals from "plan to initiate" through "program and budget" to local Clinical Practice Committee and/or Mayo Clinic Clinical Practice Committee. Incumbent will gather requirements and inputs from multiple sources, define business objectives, translated objectives into discrete projects, build consensus, obtain buy-in and handle multiple projects. Coordinates external design contractors and Mayo Clinic Facilities & Systems Support Services to carry out "plan to initiate" through "program and budget. Develops and manages high-level project timelines, resources and cost estimates in a highly complex matrix organization. Directly responsible for definition and sequencing of capital projects, leading a team of technical specialists and third party firms in development of the process design, detailed engineering, procurement and construction.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree with a combination of directly-related experience and education. Must have excellent communication, organizational and human relation skills. Requires excellent decision-making and judgment capabilities. Must have broad based knowledge of office support and computer systems along with spreadsheets, databases, statistics, software knowledge and installation, and accounting practices for budgetary responsibilities.
Additional Qualifications
Prefer master's degree in Business or Healthcare field and two years healthcare management experience with strong leadership, team building, and problem-solving skills as well as demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple disciplines, i.e., physician, administrative, supervisory, and allied health staff. Clinical degree and licensure if applicable. Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
