Sports Medicine
Position description
Provides athletic training services in the interscholastic, intercollegiate, elite amateur, professional and recreational setting including event coverage. Provides athletic training services to athletes to include evaluation, first aid, and injury prevention. Communicates/collaborates with patient, physician, physical therapist and other team members regarding patient progress, response to treatment, goals, and program changes. Clearly presents verbal and written instructions to patients and their families in appropriate terminology.
A baccalaureate or graduate degree in athletic training and certification by the National Athletic Trainer's Association, along with Minnesota Athletic Trainer license is required. CPR certification is required. Must be able to demonstrate clinical proficiency with good manual dexterity in order to manipulate treatment equipment. Must have strong communication and human relation skills to interact with clinicians, administrators, students, coaches, parents, etc.
Additional qualifications
At least one year experience working as an athletic trainer in a clinical setting is preferred. Status as a certified strength and conditioning specialist preferred. Masters degree in Sports Medicine or related field preferred.
License or certification
Certified National Athletic Trainer, Licensed Minnesota Athletic Trainer, CPR Certification
Exemption status
Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $21.10 per hour.

Schedule details
Schedule is variable each week and month throughout the year. Generally most hours would be afternoons and evenings during the week and day hours on the weekends.
Weekend schedule
Can be half days to full days of work
