Position description
Provides athletic training services in the interscholastic, intercollegiate, elite amateur, professional and recreational setting including event coverage. Participates in outreach activities as a representative of Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research. Delivers treatment to patients under the supervision of the physician and/or physical therapist in accordance with quality standards of the department. A subset of employees may be required to routinely drive as part of their job responsibilities. This position will be primarily in the high school outreach setting.
A baccalaureate or graduate degree in athletic training and certification by the National Athletic Trainer's Association, along with Minnesota Athletic Trainer registration is required. CPR certification is required. Must be able to demonstrate clinical proficiency with good manual dexterity in order to manipulate treatment equipment. Must have strong communication and human relation skills to interact with clinicians, administrators, students, coaches, parents, etc.
Additional qualifications
At least one year experience working as an athletic trainer in a clinical setting is preferred.
Status as a certified strength and conditioning specialist preferred.
Masters degree in Sports Medicine or related field preferred.
License or certification
Certified National Athletic Trainer, Licensed Minnesota Athletic Trainer, CPR Certification. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record in accordance with Mayo Clinic Policy as applicable.

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.  The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $1,317.00 based on a full-time position.

Schedule details
Typical schedule will be providing AT services in the afternoons and some evenings. Starting time will depend on specific job setting location, with an average start time around 230pm. Will be working some weekends throughout the school year and at a lesser extent in the summer.
Weekend schedule
There will be some weekend work required, with majority of the work happening on Saturday's. The shifts will be half days up to all day depending on sports being played.
