Why Mayo Clinic
This is a temporary position until May, 2019. We are seeking either 2 candidates to work a .5 (20 hours a week) each or 1 candidate willing to work a 1.0 (40 hours a week).
Responsible for assisting with the prevention, assessment, treatment, and reconditioning of athletic injuries as set forth by the National Athletic Trainer Association Board of Certification. Demonstrates competency in taping, strapping, bracing and fitting of athletic equipment and ability to carry out prescribed treatments and recommendations by referring providers. Perfoms responsibilities as a physician extender in the clinic. Responsible for coverage as assigned at MCHS supported athletic events, at contracted schools/community groups for pre-season events, athletic practices, and/or sporting events. Serves as a liaison of Mayo Clinic Health System to collaborate with schools and the community. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. Participates in operational aspects of the department, performance improvement activities within the department and participates in quality improvement projects. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, and organizational safety and fire safety programs.
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Strong written and verbal skills. Basic computer knowledge. Basic knowledge of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy and physiology. Basic knowledge of physical therapy machine operation, maintenance and repairs of same. Decision-making and problem solving skills. Team-building skills. Flexibility with scheduled days and hours of work.
License or certification
Current State of Wisconsin Athletic Trainer license. Current BLS certification. Drivers License may be required depending on location of hire.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $20.54 per hour.

40 to 80
Will be required to work evening hours, M-F, approximately 3-4 evenings per week to cover high school athletic events. Must provide your own transportation to and from the events.
