Perform diagnostic examinations to provide source of information for interpretation by interpreting physician for referring physician. Identify correct patient for requested examination using two forms of identification, patient name and date of birth. Explain examination to patient and family if present. Complete consent forms and worksheets according to department policy. Perform diagnostic echo sonography. Transport and assist patients to rooms to facilitate to examination as needed. Prepare examination room, ensure cleanliness and adequate supplies to assure proper and accurate performance of examination. Ensure room cleanliness before patient arrival. Replace any used supplies. Notify supervisor of any needed supplies to ensure continued room readiness. Perform visual preventive safety inspection, Report dangerous equipment situation or malfunction of equipment to supervisor according to department policy. Perform various department support functions to ensure efficient and optimum patient care. Inspect patient's procedure request to assure proper assignment and procedure has been ordered according to department policy. Correlate procedure charge with actual procedure performed. Obtain patient examination history records unusual conditions, limitations, and documents technique factors as necessary following department policy.
