We are seeking to recruit an exceptionally skilled cardiac physiologist/ senior echocardiographer, who shows evidence of excellent clinical ability and is eager to develop their managerial skills. The ideal candidate will be keen to support the development of the rapidly growing Cardiology Department at the Mayo Clinic in London supported by three cardiology consultants in London and working in collaboration with colleagues from the cardiology department in the USA. The echo service we currently provide include adult TTE, TOE, DSE, exercise stress echo, contrast and bubble echo procedures. Physiologist led exercise tolerance tests (treadmill) and Holter service is also in place. You will be involved in the provision of our highly patient orientated clinical service and will help support exciting new research projects in collaboration with researchers from the USA. We require someone who will enjoy working in an exciting, friendly, cutting edge environment, as part of a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, radiographers and nurses. As the cardiac physiologist, you will undertake, without immediate supervision, a full range of diagnostic cardiac clinical physiology procedures and develop skills at interpreting complex clinical information, responding to changes promptly and appropriately and developing specialised plans of care for cardiac patients.
You will be required to hold a BSc (Hons) degree, BSc in Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology) or equivalent in Clinical Physiology and demonstrate relevant post qualification experience in a broad range of cardiac physiology procedures. The sonographer must have at least 3 years of experience with echocardiograms. The preferred candidate will also have multiple years of experience in ECG and stress testing. Must have BSE accreditation.
Experience with running stress echo service and assisting with TOEs procedures would be desirable.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
