This is a part-time (.5) position.
Incumbent will serve learners and faculty to assure that all learners have access to resources that support their success in school and in their personal lives. Incumbent will facilitate learner access to, and maximize utilization of, Mayo Clinic, College, and/or community resources and services from matriculation through graduation.
The Case Manager will coordinate a plan for learners experiencing challenges that may be interfering with their academic and professional development and will, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, evaluate options for support, communicate with campus partners, facilitate access to resources, and advocate when necessary to help learners overcome obstacles in a respectful and compassionate manner.
The Case Manager will function as the facilitator for the college’s Behavioral Intervention Team requiring demonstrated professionalism and strong moral character.
Demonstrated leadership, independent problem solving, conflict resolution, critical thinking skills, and team building skills required. Must be self-motivated and able to work as part of a team with minimal supervision. Must possess the ability to work well within a creative and challenging work environment. Student Services’ mission is to serve as the single point of contact for the efficient delivery of value-added ancillary support mechanisms which positively enhance and augment the student experience. This individual in this position will need to have a broad understanding of Student Services offerings as well as those of Mayo Clinic and the local community.
This position will be working 80% remotely with anticipated 20% on campus work. Flexibility to meet learner meeting preference is desired and if in-person meeting, may be on the Jacksonville campus.
Master's degree in college student personnel, student development, student affairs in higher education, or one of the behaviors sciences (social work, counseling), or related field with a minimum of 2 years of experience performing student services/case management work requiring work with sensitive matters that require providing accommodations, support, and/or referrals (or closely related experience)
OR a Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human development, or a related field with a minimum of 4 years of experience performing student services/case management work requiring work with sensitive matters that require providing accommodations, support, and/or referrals (or closely related experience).
Experience working with professional students, graduate students, and/or other students in health professions is desired.
Experience in innovative program development and planning. Ability to establish relationships with external agencies and organizations to enhance knowledge of, and access to, community resources.
Demonstrates working knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations, as well as professional standards of practice, related to mental health case management, community support programming, and commitments.
Acquires and utilizes up-to-date research, education, and training in the delivery of ethical and competent interventions.
Understanding diverse cultures and incorporating the relevant needs of culturally diverse groups, as well as people with disabilities, into practice.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from multiple disciplines including students, physicians, and staff.
Understanding of mental health terminology, including diagnostic criteria; Experience conducting presentations to both large and small groups; Direct experience working with traditional/non-traditional aged college students; Knowledge of documentation and case management systems; Ability to take initiative and to balance multiple priorities.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $29.95 per hour.
Weekdays – 40 hours every two weeks. Schedule flexible at this time.
