Collects and transports general and infectious/bio-hazard waste and soiled linens in accordance with department and infection control guidelines. Collects and transports recyclable materials. Sometimes operates power equipment in the completion of assignments: including trash compactor, carpet extractor, vacuum cleaner, extraction of carpet and furniture, carpet cleaning and spot removal. May be called upon to perform conventional housekeeping-related duties in other patient areas as needed. Responsible for arrangement and set up of meeting rooms including the transport and stocking of supplies. Responds to customer service requests. Must collaborate with others, organize well, accomplish tasks, solve problems and communicate effectively.
Personal Protective Equipment is provided: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

High School diploma or GED preferred but not required. Ability to read, write, speak English, including comprehension of verbal and written instructions, correspondence and memos is highly preferred. Must be able to prioritize job duties and be able to work independently and/or in a team environment. Prior experience in floor care maintenance is highly preferred.
Required to stand, push, pull, reach, lift, bend, walk for extended periods of time. Required to lift 50-75 pounds occasionally, and 25 pounds regularly. Must be able to push/pull carts weighing 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
Works 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. 8-hour days. Also works holidays and every weekend. Five days on, two days off.
