Position description
Internship Director: Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates program to meet the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) dietetic internship program accreditation standards, remain current with practice, and attain program goals. Directs and supervises intern selection and training. Provides guidance and feedback to Clinical Dietitian Nutritionists, Food Service Managers and Supervisors, and Community Dietitian Nutritionists concerning training of interns. Manages program budget in coordination with Clinical Nutrition Operations Manager, Department Administrator, and Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences administration. Applies effective leadership skills. The total FTE for this position is 1.0. The amount of time allocated as the Dietetic Internship Director is 0.5 FTE; the amount of time allocated as a clinical nutrition dietitian is 0.5FTE. This position requires a rotation after 8 years in the role, which may be renewed.
Master's degree in Nutrition or related field. Credentialed as a registered dietitian nutritionist by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Minimum of three years of professional experience post-credentialing. Registration and current member with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Previous clinical dietetics work experience.
Additional qualifications
Previous dietetics management experience or evidence of strong leadership skills. Previous program development, implementation and evaluation experience.
License or certification
Licensure with the state of Minnesota (Clinic - must meet requirements for licensure upon application; Hospitals - must meet requirements within 6 months of hire). Medicare certified (Clinic - must meet requirements for certification upon application. Hospitals - not applicable.)
