Position description
The Facilities Systems Monitoring Technician is responsible for processing requests for building system deficiencies and responding appropriately to system alarms. The technician works within the Control Center which provides coverage and support for a 24/7 facility. The technician may work independently or in a team setting. Is capable of operating, diagnosing and correcting deficiencies on multiple maintenance and fire alarm systems in a complex work environment. Displays good organization ability and communicates with co-workers, prioritizes work during multiple events, and displays good coping and communication skills. Interacts and works in close cooperation with multiple departments across the campus and provides excellent customer service. Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to work occasional overtime may be required.
A two-year vocation degree or certificate in a HVAC, mechanical maintenance, building maintenance or building automation systems; OR an Associate’s degree from an accredited program in HVAC, mechanical maintenance, building maintenance, building automation systems or another program that directly relates to building maintenance and/or building operations. Basic knowledge of building infrastructure and maintenance systems is required.
Additional qualifications
Experience in a health care setting is preferred. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with customers and co-workers. Experience with computers, computer systems and report generation is preferred.

Compensation Detail
Minimum rate is $21.85 based upon union contract.

Schedule details
Friday through Monday, 7:a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Schedule includes 2-3 holidays per year. Flexibility in scheduling is required for scheduled overtime, planned and unplanned absences, training and holiday scheduling.
Weekend schedule
This position is every weekend 10 hour shifts.
