Position description
The Integrative Health Specialist (IHS) works collaboratively within the Charter House Department of Nursing, to improve the overall patient and family experience within the nursing practice. This will include a focus on quality of patient care, service and promotion of integrative therapies. The IHS will function as a leader, educator, consultant, and researcher. Responsibilities include: direction and integration of care via teaching and education of patients, staff, community, health care practitioners and physicians regarding integrative therapies and providing holistic/integrative therapies to patients regarding integrative choices to promote healing. This position will lead and promote the expansion of the Healing Enhancement Integrative Therapy Services within the Charter House Department of Nursing.
Qualifications
Must be a graduate of an accredited Baccalaureate Nursing Program with Masters degree in Nursing and minimum of 10 years experience as an advanced practice nurse with experience in energy modulation.
If qualifying as a CNS, must be a graduate of an accredited Baccalaureate Nursing Program. Masters Degree with a major in nursing with a clinical nurse specialist focus. If qualifying as a Nurse Practitioner, must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Master of Science Degree in Nursing from a Nurse Practitioner program with maintenance of an established current practice agreement with collaborating Mayo Clinic Rochester consultant physician(s). For all: five years of successful work experience in nursing with two years in an acute care setting preferred. Experience in integrative healing arts therapies is required. Demonstrated success in conducting clinical research, project management, preparing publications, and oral presentations is required. Experience with practical application is required, experience in an acute care setting is preferred.. Demonstrated ability to perform nursing assessments and determine appropriate holistic interventions. Strong presentation skills. Self-motivated and ability to work independently.
License or certification

If CNS: Current RN license to practice in Minnesota. Certification in designated specialty by a nationally recognized body deemed acceptable by the Minnesota State Board of Nursing. If NP: Current Minnesota RN license. Certified or eligible to be certified as a nurse practitioner within 6 months of employment date by a national certifying organization accepted by the Minnesota Board of Nursing. May require DEA registration. Certification through the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Holistic Nursing highly preferred.

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $28.92 per hour.
