The Division of General Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Arizona is currently seeking an Internist for an appointment in their Consultative Medicine Section. Board certification in Internal Medicine is required. A focus with demonstrated knowledge and experience in disease prevention is also a key skill set. Practice experience within an outpatient Internal Medicine practice is essential, and specialty opportunities exist in international patient care, integrative medicine and travel medicine.
The selected candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication skills and maturity needed to care for our episodic ("non-primary care") patient population. Interests in advancing the science and practice of medicine within the division and the institution through research, education and innovative care models are added qualifications that will receive priority. This position includes an academic appointment in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and provides opportunities to educate medical students in the Mayo Clinical College of Medicine, Arizona Branch campus and to work with Mayo Clinic Residents.
Due to the complexity of our patients, at least five years of post-residency practice experience is preferred.
