Position description
Position provides interactive multimedia programming development, art direction and graphic production. Responsibilities include: technical leadership, development of courseware templates, programming for communication with learning systems, quality assurance plan development and participation, and application deployment. Provides in-depth knowledge of existing courseware software including advanced Authorware programming, Flash (ActionScript), XML, HTML, and JavaScript. Keeps current on educational technology infrastructure and performs evaluations of courseware development tools to maintain efficient development of quality courseware. Develops software tools for unit as needed. Provides programming assistance to support and develop online, interactive training materials for the institution. Provides art direction for courseware, departmental web sites and print materials. Coordinates and directs photographers and videographers. Provides graphic support including post-photo production, computer illustration, animation, and graphic layout. Excellent understanding of web publishing production and the use of multimedia on the web. Utilizes strong organizational skills to perform a wide variety of multimedia content management duties. Designs and oversees all content production for specified sections of web sites. Individual is expected to participate in a collaborative and productive manner with colleagues and interact with a variety of personnel. Individual should be self-directed and work in a team environment. Provides full cycle support in the selection, design and application of resources to satisfy requirements.
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Instructional Design, Education, Clinical or other related area required plus a minimum of 3 years of related experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree. Desired technical skills include knowledge of multimedia applications, such as Authorware, Flash, DreamWeaver or other similar software. Must be highly proficient in using Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator and ImageReady and other related tools.
Additional qualifications
A minor in graphic design, illustration or related field is preferred. Experience developing education, graphic design, or multimedia work is preferred. Independent problem-solving and analytical skills, flexibility and ability to manage multiple tasks and effectively prioritize work in a constantly changing environment required. Strong human relations, communication, time management and organizational skills are needed.

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $31.16 per hour.
